Expressions of Interest are being sought for 10-12 places in ICA20210 – Certificate II in Telecommunications. This program will be delivered by Integracom at their facilities in Burswood on a Thursday. Students would be expected to commence in March.

The places are funded under YAT-NP and are open to all schools from the three sectors (Public, Catholic and Independent). Once expressions of interest are lodged, students will be invited to apply for a place in the program and interviews will be held to select the students.

An open day has been scheduled for this Saturday the 11th February at Integracom. Details can be found by downloading this flyer. Parents, students and school staff are all welcome to attend.

Schools are invited to join the South Metro Education group with a session running from 9am-12pm. The open day concludes at 2pm.

With the onset of the National Broadband Network (NBN) the demand for skilled and work ready technicians is expected to grow exponentially over the going years. This qualification will lead directly into a traineeship at an AQF III level, which is the minimum standard for working on the NBN project.

The Certificate II in Telecommunications has job outcomes in three key areas and the training is structured around these:

  • Telecommunications Technician
  • Audio/Video Technician, and
  • Electronic Security Technician

Students will also receive their Restricted Registration cabling license, which is the minimum license required to install cabling for many of the technical careers available in the above areas.
