It’s that time of year again. Holidays are over, school is already back and here we all are ready to go for an exciting year of VETiS for 2013.

This year has seen some changes on a policy level, staffing, locations and directions.

The new SBAT policy is hot off the press.

Both ETI Liaison Officers are now located in the Regional Office in Stirling – a bit more central to the region than before. You can reach us on our mobiles or the main office direct number.

We were shocked to hear the announcement that Jenni B has moved on from her role of looking after VET in Schools at Polytechnic West. I’m sure I speak for the region as a whole:

Wishing you all the very best for 2013 Jenni! Thank you for all your support in the past, and we look forward to working with you into the future.

– from the North Metro ETIs and Schools

There has been a shift in direction for some RTOs in our region, with their focus moving away from lower level certificate courses for VET in Schools delivery.

This has prompted a cross region initiative to collate and create an RTO database (of sorts). Designed to be a one stop shop for RTO and offerings info localised by region. News as this new tool is developed to come as work progresses.

During the quieter time while schools were away, I worked across regions to develop a School statistic tool based on SIS VET data. This can be used to create a report highlighting key statistics for VET in Schools delivery and outcomes.

Schedule a school visit to go through this data!!

Finally, a friendly reminder for those that are interested in the SBAT Working Party. Get in touch with Dan asap to register your interest.

Here’s to a fantastic year for 2013!!
